MEDIA GUIDELINES

Since we receive numerous media requests per month, we ask that the following guidelines be followed when requesting media trip assistance:

  • Complete and return the Media Assistance Request Form.

  • We request a minimum of three business weeks notice to fully assist journalists in their visit, once we have received all credentialing information. This allows us to coordinate the necessary arrangements. If we receive a request less than three weeks prior, we attempt to assist journalists with their requests, but cannot guarantee results. We will be happy to provide contact information for industry members so that the journalist can make arrangements on their own. Please note that complimentary arrangements are provided at the discretion of our industry Partners. All requests are subject to availability. Media rates may apply.

  • Journalists should be prepared to send, if requested, a letter of assignment on letterhead from the media outlet they are representing.

  • Freelance writers should forward documentation of recent examples of travel or travel-related feature coverage from the last two years in a high circulation media outlet. Documentation can be in the form of print clippings with their byline or a VHS or cassette sample of coverage they have previously produced.

  • Forward an original copy of the resulting published feature, cassette tape or VHS tape as well as air dates to us after your work has been published. This allows the VISIT FLORIDA Public Relations Department to track coverage about Florida.

  • While traveling in Florida, we expect all journalists who have received assistance from VISIT FLORIDA and our Partners to behave responsibly and to respect the rules and regulations of each destination.
