Apr/5-6/2008 - GLBT Expo
The GLBT Expo defines its consumers as "The Perfect Niche Market." Now in its 15th year, the GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender) community is affluent, brand-loyal, well educated and business minded. Show organizers anticipate more than 20,000 attendees and are placing $750,000 worth of advertising to promote the show. VISIT FLORIDA will coordinate a Florida pavilion; providing Florida branding on all pre-show printed materials and advertising, creating a high impact presence and will be a major sponsor.

The Atlanta Travel Expo is a new consumer event including a trade component and an excellent opportunity to showcase your area or property in our No.1 drive market and No.2 overall for air and auto. The show will be promoted with a multi-media campaign supported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reaching more than 1.6 million leisure travelers each Sunday and more than 1.2 million who travel three or more times per year for leisure.

Travel Professionals of Color (TPOC) is an organization that promotes training, networking and support of minority travel professionals. The 2008 conference includes a tradeshow held in New Orleans on April 28, followed by a cruise onboard Carnival Cruise Line, April 29 - May 3. Mini TPOC seminars are conducted around the US to increase awareness about the association, the conference and to increase membership. The trade show producer expects to have at least 250 - 300 minority agents (Hispanics and African Americans) to attend the conference in 2008 as well as 70 - 80 suppliers.

May/12-16/2008 - Florida Select Roadshow
Mexico continues to be a bright spot for the United States in the international arena because the U.S. is Mexico’s top international travel destination. Based on the number of Mexican travelers who travel outside their country, the United States remains 21 times more popular with them then the next most visited destination. The importance of Mexico as an emerging and growing visitor market can't be overestimated. VISIT FLORIDA is taking its success with FLORIDA SELECT in Mexico City on the road to the most important travel trade professionals in the country. This five day program will target operators, incentive & corporate travel companies, top travel agents and travel writers that promote travel. A series of destination seminars and supplier presentation/discussions with buyers/media will take place in major cities. Partners will have the opportunity to interact with 250 top producers and travel writers from Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey Queretaro and Leon.
